'Him in Skin'
Within our life on this earth, we enjoy times of happiness and times of hardship and trials of many kind. Through every one of these seasons, we have the opportunity to experience Christ in every moment. When we are discouraged, He encourages us. When we are excited about something, He rejoices with us! It is a companionship, a father and child relationship, a husband and wife oneness. ‘Him in Skin’ is being One with Christ and demonstrating His Love, Character, and Presence to others. Christ is One with us in our spirit and therefore anything He is, so are we in this world. (1 John 4:17). When we accept this oneness with Him which goes far beyond just initial salvation of our spirits, we begin to only say what He says to us and do what we see Him do.
Just as Jesus declared,“Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” (John 5:19)
This is the gospel! We can love as He loved us first. We can forgive because we know we are forgiven by Him. We can live a righteous life without fear of sin because of the righteousness gifted to us from grace through faith from Jesus Christ's death and resurrection on the cross! We have true freedom! Empowered by the Holy Spirit living within us and through us, we can truly live as Christ to this world.
We love you and we know that our heavenly Father does too. Just as we are One with God, we are One with other brothers and sisters in Christ. We are willing to look beyond faults, differences in political opinions, doctrinal beliefs, past mistakes, and self-consciousness. Instead, we choose to see you as Christ sees you- perfect, without blemish, blameless before the Lord, full of His Spirit and worthy to be loved.
Because of this, Christ in us is able to fulfill Christ’s prayer in John 17- “I have given them the glory that you gave Me, that they may be one as We are one— I in them and You in Me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.” (John 17:22-23).
In Christ,
